BLOG TOUR/Hydra by Matt Wesolowski
I am,extremely happy to be a part of yet another #TeamOrenda book blog tour!
Today I will be discussing Hydra by Matt Wesolowski. I was extremely excited because of all the hype the first book, six stories received. I was nervous, because I had not read the first book, and thought I might be a little lost in the second installment. But this book was very well read as a stand-alone all by itself. Here is a little bit about the book:
One cold November night in 2014, in a small town in the north west of England, 21 year old Arla Macleod, bludgeoned her mother, stepfather and young sister to death with a hammer, in an unprovoked attack known as the Macleod massacre. Now incarcerated at a medium - security Mental Health institution, Arla will speak to no one but Scott King, and investigative journalist who is 6 Stories podcast have become an internet sensation. King finds himself immersed in an increasingly complex case, interviewing five key Witnesses and Arla herself, as he questions whether arla's responsibility for the massacre was as diminished as her legal team made out. As he unpicks the stories, he finds himself thrust into a world of deadly forbidden games, online trolls and the mysterious black-eyed kids, whose presence seems to be extend far beyond the delusions of a murderess...
I have to say, this book reads like no other book ever has. I must admit in the beginning, I was a little hesitant. I have never read a book that has been set up as a podcast, but that is one of the things that intrigue me about this novel. I felt very sorry for this young lady and hearing all about her and more than her childhood actually her teenage years, and the events that led up to the massacre, I was so intrigued with this book. I am definitely going back and reading six stories just as soon as I am actually done writing this post! I definitely think this is a five-star written book. One thing I absolutely must say that I love about the book is the character Scott King himself, I find him to be very kind and understanding and he doesn't seem to care about the things that's going on or happening to him as he's uncovering the truth. If you have not picked up a copy of this book, you are not understanding what you are missing !!!
Definitely pick it up and look into the first installment, called six stories I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thank you all for joining me on the blog tour today hope to see you next time!
