As Montreal or Catherine de sets foot in a remote fishing Village in starts asking about her birth mother, the body of a woman is dredged up in a fisherman's Nets. Not just any woman, though Marie Garant, and Elusive, nomadic sailor and unriddled Beauty who wants tied many a man's hearts in Knots. Detective Sergeant Jacqueen Morales, newly drafted to the area from the suburbs of Montreal, barely has time to unpack his suitcase before he's thrown into the deep end of the investigation. On Quebec's outlying Gatsby Peninsula, the truth can be slippery, especially down on the fisherman's Worf's. Interviews drift into idle chit-chat, evidence floats off at the tide and the truth lingers and murky Waters it's enough to make DS Morales reach straight for a large whiskey...
I am definitely impressed with the style of writing. Very different from any books I have read lately, but in a great way. I loved the character development and tje poetic language. If you are loojing for something way off the beaten path, then this is it!!
Thank you so much once, again to Karen @orendabooks, and Anne Cater, the best blog organiser on both sides of the ocean.
