Big Sister by Gunner Staalesen

Good Day to all my lovely bibliophile friends! Today is my stop on this amazing blog tour organised by the great Anne Cater for Orenda books #TeamOrenda

A littlebit about the book:

PI Varg Veum  receives a surprise visit from a woman who introduces herself as his half-sister, and she has a job for him. Her god-daughter, a nineteen-year-old training nurse from Haugesund, moves from her bed-set in Bergen 2 weeks ago. Since then no one has heard anything from her. She didn't leave an address. She doesn't answer her phone. And the police refused to take her case seriously. Valiums investigation uncovers a series of carefully covered up crimes and pent-up hatreds, and the trail leads to a gang of extreme bikers and to a shadowy group, whose dark intense is hidden by the anonymity of the internet. And then things get personal...

The author wastes no time to getting into the meat of the story. The book starts off with the half-sister presenting her case to PI Varg Veum. Although, a little surprised,  Veum is professional and still takes the case, which put him onto a trail of a bunch of strange people in this young woman's life.

Although, it is a slow burn of a book, I really enjoyed the build up!  I love how much detail is in the story telling, and how smart and experienced our PI is.

Very intriguing and interesting to read and definitely had me turning the pages to find out and uncover more. If you like a book that will have you guessing until the end, then this is the one for you!

Solid 4☆☆☆☆ stars from me!

Once again, thank you to Anne, Orenda books and the author for the opportunity to read and review this creative piece of work!
